Vintage McIntosh C8 MONO Tube Preamplifier Preamp 12AX7 For Restoration PROJECT

Up for sale folks is a vintage McIntosh C8 tube preamplifier. This is a very nice example and is fresh to market from a local estate. This amp has been stored for many years since the last time it was used. It was purchased new in Milwaukee, WI and has had one owner since new. It appears to be missing the jewel that is in the lower center of the face. Fairly recently, a newer power cord was installed as well. I did nothing to test this unit, as with tube equipment I know it is important to bring up on a variac. This preamp still has the cable that ran to the amplifier as well!
Cosmetically this unit is fairly clean. The face is decent but does have some oxidation and loss to the finish. This would be a good candidate for the reproduction face. The inside is very clean with no rust, and the lettering on the back of the chassis is very good yet. This unit has been sitting for MANY years and will need a full rebuild and restoration before use. Please view all photos and understand this is being sold AS IS for PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY.
